Job Description

Meow Wolf is seeking an Electrical Site Project Manager to join a cross functional team that supports the construction and installation of our Denver exhibit. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a construction job site with an electrical contractor crew successfully managing the installation and coordination of electrical systems for the project. This position will act as an on-site owner’s rep answering questions and coordinating the work of electrical and low voltage contractors as well as audiovisual, lighting, security, and fog/haze integrators on the Meow Wolf Denver job site.

This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a high level of focus and follow-through. The ideal candidate lives full time in Denver, CO, however, upon hiring the position will train in Santa Fe for several months working closely with the MW Inc. Infrastructure team to learn Meow Wolf’s organizational design standards, process, and culture as well as the detailed project plans and design methodologies employed in the Denver project.

Once the training period in Santa Fe is complete, the position will move back to Denver and work full time on the job site of the Denver project through the completion of construction and the opening of the exhibit. During the period between the end of construction (TCO/CO) and the opening of the exhibit, they will assist the Meow Wolf Infrastructure team, tech team, and contracted artists in integrating in the final tech system(s) elements (media servers, controllers, etc.) that tie into the line voltage, low voltage, network, audiovisual, and lighting infrastructure systems installed by contractors/integrators during construction.

This is a temporary position. This team member will be hired as a temporary employee from the hiring date through the opening of the Denver exhibit. There may be other opportunities to work with Meow Wolf upon the successful completion of the Denver project, however, they will have to apply for and be rehired for another position at that time.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience managing electrical construction projects
    • Ideally having worked on medium to large commercial facilities
  • Thorough understanding of commercial construction and management through both study and practice
  • The ability to successfully communicate and coordinate with many different trades during construction
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deeply nested sets of requirements and dependencies
  • High level of technical literacy, the ability to both manage and generally understand technical requirements
  • Ability to adopt new pieces of software to achieve job responsibilities
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a large creative team.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or certificate in construction management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) cert
  • Electrical Engineer’s license is a plus but not required
  • Recommended certifications and credentials (not required).
    • Electrical Journeyman/Master certification
    • BICSI RCDD
    • Electrical Safety

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the Meow Wolf  Infrastructure Director, Electrical Systems Designer(s), Lighting Systems Designer, Audiovisual Systems Designer, Design Team, and Project Management Team to learn the Denver project design intent, plans, infrastructure systems, stakeholders, contractors, integrators, and construction schedule.
  • Build relationships with Meow Wolf tech team, design partners, project integrators, and contractors in order to successfully coordinate and manage systems installation during construction.
  • Manage all design drawings, fixture schedules, and supplemental project documentation for electrical infrastructure systems during project design and construction.
    • Oversee document change management to ensure all (electrical) contractors and integrators on the job site have and are working from the most current project designs.
    • Maintain up-to-date as-built documentation as work is completed on site.
  • Liaise with General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Low voltage contractor, and infrastructure integration partners to ensure:
    • All designs are buildable, as drawn, before contractors begin work
    • All questions in the field are answered promptly and in accordance with Meow Wolf’s design intent for the project.
      • If a question can’t be immediately answered with the design drawings/documentation on-hand liaise with the MW Electrical Systems Designer or relevant MW team members to get necessary information as soon as possible.
    • Any changes in design (through the proper channels/chain of command) are communicated promptly to contractors in the field in order to prevent wasted time and materials
    • Everything possible is being done to avoid change orders through good communication, pre-planning, and proaction on the job site.
  • Liaising with Meow Wolf field certification partners for tech systems review, code compliance, and field inspections of all projects on site as needed
  • Liaising with municipal electrical inspectors for electrical inspections of exhibition facilities as needed
  • Assist the Meow Wolf Infrastructure team, tech team, and contracted artists in integrating in the final tech system(s) elements (media servers, controllers, etc.) that tie into the line voltage, low voltage, network, audiovisual, and lighting infrastructure systems installed by contractors/integrators during construction.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
