Founded in 2008 by a small group of artists, writers, musicians, and makers looking to create an egalitarian space for artistic expression, Meow Wolf’s first exhibits were created in warehouses on shoestring budgets. Since then Meow Wolf has created 25 exhibitions throughout the United States working with hundreds of artists.

Job Description

The Senior Human Resources Director is the number two role on the HR Team, directly supporting the Vice President of Human Resources in providing overall direction and leadership in the Human Resources realm. The Sr. HRD is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a senior level and works closely with the VP of HR and executive management to develop and implement processes and programs, manage executive recruitment, complex employee relations issues, compliance, and other generalist work.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree and ten to fifteen years of HR experience
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as an HR leader

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Masters’ degree in human resources or related
  • SHRM Certified Professional or SHRM Senior Certified Professional credential

Job Responsibilities

Business Leadership

  • Design and implement human resources initiatives and programs, and create policies that are aligned with Meow Wolf’s culture;
  • Review existing HR functions, processes, and objectives and make necessary recommendations and changes to increase efficiency and productivity;
  • Provide subject matter expertise, counsel and decision making in the areas of employee engagement, performance management, talent management, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, and compliance;
  • Participates in developing HR department goals, objectives and systems;
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends client staff meetings as appropriate;
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals;

 

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop, lead and execute the executive talent acquisition strategy for Meow Wolf;
  • Lead and inspire the HR generalists to find, hire and onboard top-notch talent into the organization;
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans for key open positions particularly management roles to ensure current roles are filled and the pipeline is strong;
  • Present strong data, data analysis reports and create recruiting metrics to various audiences within Meow Wolf;
  • Research and understand the local markets to determine competitive landscape, target competitors, profiles of successful candidates, etc;
  • Working with Marketing, create and lead Meow Wolf’s strategy around company and employment branding;
  • Create and manage Meow Wolf’s internship program according to the needs and values of the organization;

 

Employee Relations

  • Along with HR Directors, manage the resolution of complex employee relations issues, including potential litigation and claims;
  • Conducts investigation with legal impact – EEO issues, harassment, etc., and provides recommendations for actions and next steps;

 

Compliance/Record Management/HRIS

  • Know and understand current federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure company compliance and to communicate new policies to every affected employee and business location
